Leading the Future of Work with Chiara Di Sclafani, First Chief Human and Synthetic Resources Officer (CHSRO) in Our Industry
Introduction
As the world of work evolves, so do leadership roles. At MINT, we are proud to be at the forefront of this transformation with the appointment of Chiara Di Sclafani as the industry’s first Chief Human and Synthetic Resources Officer (CHSRO). In this exclusive interview, Chiara shares insights into her groundbreaking role, the significance of a Hybrid Organization, and how MINT is pioneering a new era of human-AI collaboration.

Reflections on the Future of Hybrid Teams
Thank you for joining us today, Chiara. You've just been appointed as MINT's first Chief Human and Synthetic Resources Officer, a title that's the first of its kind in the industry. What does this role entail?
Chiara Di Sclafani: Thank you for having me. This new role represents a fundamental shift in how we think about organizational talent. As CHSRO, I'm responsible for leading talent across what we call a Hybrid Organization: teams composed of both human professionals and AI Autonomous Agents. My focus is on making this new paradigm effective in everything we do as a company, from internal operations to client deliverables.
Why did MINT feel it was necessary to create this position now?
Chiara: We're at a pivotal moment in business evolution. MINT has been introducing hybrid approaches in every aspect of our business and our client offerings. The traditional HR function needs to evolve to address the complexities of a workforce that includes both human and synthetic intelligence. This isn't just about managing people alongside technology, it's about creating synergistic teams where each component enhances the other's capabilities.
MINT is the first in our industry with this specific role. Why is that significant?
Chiara: Being the first with this title is more than semantics, it's proof of our commitment as a company to continue being at the leading edge in helping our industry harness the power of human teams augmented by cutting-edge AI capabilities. Many companies talk about AI integration, but MINT is actually restructuring our leadership to reflect this new reality. It signals to our clients and the market that we're not just adopting technology; we're fundamentally rethinking how work gets done.
What unique challenges do you anticipate in managing both human and synthetic resources?
Chiara: The challenges are multifaceted. We need to develop new performance metrics that capture both individual and collaborative achievements across human-AI teams. We must create career development paths that account for how roles will evolve as AI capabilities advance. There's also the cultural aspect, fostering an environment where people see AI as partners rather than threats. And of course, there are ethical considerations around deployment, decision-making authority, and accountability in hybrid teams.
As a woman pioneering this first-of-its-kind executive role, do you see your perspective bringing additional value to how MINT approaches this human-synthetic integration?
Chiara: Absolutely. Diversity of thought is crucial when navigating uncharted territories. Women often excel at relationship building, emotional intelligence, and collaborative leadership, skills that are essential when creating effective partnerships between humans and AI systems. Throughout my career, I've approached challenges with an inclusive mindset that considers multiple viewpoints, which is exactly what's needed when bridging these two worlds. Innovation thrives at the intersection of different perspectives, and I'm proud that MINT recognizes the value of diverse leadership in shaping the future of work.
How do you see this hybrid approach benefiting MINT's clients?
Chiara: Our clients gain tremendous advantages. They'll work with teams that deliver faster, more accurate results by leveraging the complementary strengths of humans and AI. Human creativity, emotional intelligence, and contextual understanding paired with AI's processing power, pattern recognition, and tireless execution create outcomes neither could achieve alone. More importantly, by experiencing our hybrid approach firsthand, clients gain insights they can apply to their own organizational transformations.
What's your vision for the future of work at MINT under your leadership?
Chiara: I envision MINT as the model for what truly effective human-AI collaboration looks like. We'll develop frameworks and best practices that become industry standards. Our people will be among the most sought-after professionals because they'll possess the unique skills needed to thrive in hybrid environments. And our AI systems will continuously evolve based on real-world application and feedback. Ultimately, my goal is to create an organization where the question isn't "Human or AI?" but rather "How do we best combine human and AI talents to achieve extraordinary results?"
Finally, what would you say to those who might be concerned about AI replacing human jobs?
Chiara: I'd emphasize that our approach is fundamentally about augmentation, not replacement. As previously shared, the most valuable work happens when we combine human judgment, creativity, and emotional intelligence with AI's computational power. My role isn't about reducing our people, it's about evolving how we work together with these new tools. The organizations that will thrive aren't those that replace humans with AI, but those that create effective partnerships between the two. That's exactly what we're building at MINT, and I'm excited to lead this transformation.
Thank you for sharing your insights, Chiara!
Chiara: Thank you. We're just at the beginning of this journey, and I'm looking forward to what we'll accomplish together.
